LIVE EARTH AS PRESENTED BY THE NICE PEOPLE

DID ANYONE SEE IT. WELL I WILL KEEP THIS SIMPLE ENOUGH THAT EVEN CAMRON DIAZ WOULD BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND IT. IF THESE NICE PEOPLE ARE SO CONCERNED WITH SAVING THE PLANET THEN WHY DID THEY SHOW UP TO THESE CONCERTS IN CARAVANS OF SUVS? I WOULD HAVE HAD SOME RESPECT HAD THEY WALKED UP TO THE STADIUMS OR RODE A BICYCLE OR SKATEBOARD TO THE EVENT HELL I WOULD HAVE EVEN ACCEPTED THE DRIVING OF A VW BETTLE TO THE EVENT. IF THE HOLLYWOOD ULTRA LEFT WINGERS WANT TO SAVE THE PLANET AND THEY ONLY WANT TO DO THAT SO THAT THEY CAN ENJOY ALL IT HAS TO OFFER THEN DO SO BY EXAMPLE. THE MONEY THEY SPENT TO THROW THE EVENT COULD HAVE FED A NATION OF STARVING PEOPLE, OR BUILT A COMMUNITY OF HOUSES FOR THE HOMELESS. DO LIKE I DO, I'M NOT RICH BUT WHATEVER MONEY I HAVE I GIVE TO MY FAVORITE CHARITY. HECK ONE PERSON'S DOLLAR IS JUST A DOLLAR BUT A NATION OF PEOPLE THAT GIVE A DOLLAR THATS ALOT OF MONEY. AND THINK ABOUT IT NO TRAFFIC JAMS AND GREENHOUSE EMISSIONS PRODUCED BY THOSE SUVS.

I'M BACK

YES THATS RIGHT I'M BACK AND HAVE ONLY ONE THING TO SAY: ROSIE, PLEASE, PLEASE, JUST SHUT UP! YOU ARE GIVING ALL OF US NORMAL PEOPLE HEADACHES WITH YOUR NEVER ENDING BABBLE. JUST SHUT UP!!! HEY IT MIGHT EVEN HAVE AN IMPACT UPON GLOBAL WARMING WHICH WOULD MAKE FAT AL HAPPY.

PITCHERS AND THAT STUPID PITCH COUNT

THE OTHER NIGHT THE YANKEES WERE PLAYING THE TEXAS RANGERS AND THE YANKEE STARTER, PHILIP HUGHES, WAS THROWING A NO-HITTER WHEN HE PULLED HIS HAMSTRING AND WAS DONE FOR NOT ONLY THAT NIGHT BUT FOR THE NEXT 4-6 WEEKS. BAD LUCK, THE YANKEES DIDN'T THINK SO AND FIRED THEIR FITNESS COACH,IT CERTAINLY WAS. HOWEVER, WHAT THE PLAY-BY-PLAY ANNOUNCER SAID NEXT FLOORED ME. HE SAID THAT IT WAS A GOOD THING FOR JOE TORRE THAT HUGHES WAS HURT BECAUSE, AND BE READY TO GET SICK, HUGHES WAS APPROACHING HIS MAXIMUM PITCH COUNT AND JOE WOULD HAVE TO MAKE THE TOUGH DECISION OF WHETHER OR NOT TO LEAVE HIM IN OR PULL HIM. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT, A PITCH COUNT FOR A GUY WHO IS A ROOKIE AND ALSO PITCHING A NO HITTER! HAS BASEBALL BECOME SOFT? YES.

THEN THE PLAY BY PLAY GUY SAID THAT HUGHES HAD NOT BEEN ALLOWED TO PITCH PAST THE 6TH INNING SINCE BECOMING A PRO. WHAT! MY GOODNESS, WHY? WHY DO WE NEED A PITCH COUNT IN THE FIRST PLACE? I BET THAT IF YOU PULLED STATS TOGETHER ON HOW MANY STARTERS HAVE BEEN PULLED OUT OF A GAME WITH A LEAD BECAUSE THEIR COUNT WAS HIGH AND HOW MANY OF THE RELIEVERS BLEW THAT LEAD, I BET IT WOULD BE EYE OPENING. JOE TORRE IS NOTORIOUS FOR PULLING PITCHERS TO SOON, JUST ASK ANDY PETITTE. BRING BACK THE DAYS WHEN PITCHERS PITCHED PAST 7 INNINGS. I BET IT WOULD MAKE GAMES BETTER AND WOULD RID THE LEAGUE OF THOSE WHO SHOULD HAVE BEEN GONE A LONG TIME AGO. THE MIDDLE RELIEF PITCHER IS ONLY FOR WHEN THE STARTER FALLS APART EARLY IN A GAME NOT FOR THE 5TH, 6TH AND 7TH OF A GAME, BRING BACK TOM TERRIFIC SEAVER, SANDY KOFAX,JIM PALMER MAKE IT A GAME AGAIN THAT ONLY LAST FOR 2 HOURS AT THE MOST.

WHAT IS LOVE?

AND HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN YOU ARE IN LOVE? WHAT DRIVES LOVE TO WORK? IS LOVE FOR EVERYBODY? ANSWERS:
1:I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS, MY BEST GUESS ITS WHEN YOU SEE THE FACE OF THE ONE YOU THINK YOU LOVE YOUR FIRST THOUGHT IS THAT OF MURDER.

2: WELL, I KNOW ITS NOT CUPID AND HIS ARROW. IF YOU THINK CUPID EXIST YOU MUST STILL BE CRYING FOR BAMBI'S MOTHER.

3: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and finally

4: ITS FOR NOBODY BUT IF YOU WANT TO SATISFY THOSE BASIC HUMAN NEEDS YOU KNOW THE ONES THAT FREUD SPENT A LIFE TIME TRYING TO EXPLAIN THEN YES USING THE LOVE WORD MIGHT SERVE YOU WELL BUT DON'T FORGET TO HAVE THAT PRENUPTIAL IN PLACE SO THAT YOU CAN PROTECT THE NUMBER 3s

DUKE MA CHEATING SCANDEL

THE REAL QUESTION HERE IS: WHAT IS DUKE DOING OFFERING A TAKE HOME EXAM FOR STUDENTS IN A MASTERS PROGRAM? HOW LAZY CAN THESE PROFESSORS BE? THE LAST TAKE HOME EXAM I TOOK WAS IN 6TH GRADE AND THAT TEACHER WAS FIRED A YEAR LATER FOR NOT BEING "PROFESSIONAL"!!! THE CHEATERS SHOULD BE REWARDED FOR DOING WHAT ANY OTHER STUDENT WOULD HAVE DONE WHEN FACED WITH THAT SAME CHANCE. MY GOODNESS IN THE AGE OF CELL PHONES AND INTERNET SEARCH ENGINES SUCH AS GOOGLE HOW COULD THEY NOT BE TEMPED TO USE THE TOOLS THAT ARE AT THEIR DISPOSAL? HECK I CAN SEE ONE OF THESE STUDENTS RUNNING A CAMPAIGN SOMEDAY.

JOHN EDWARDS AND HIS 400 DOLLAR HAIR CUT WANTS YOUR VOTE

IN THE BEGINNING I HAD SUPPORTED JOHN EDWARDS IN HIS BID TO BE PRESIDENT OF OUR COUNTRY. I LIKED HIM AND THOUGHT HE WOULD BRING A FRESH APPROACH TO THE OFFICE. AS IT TURNS OUT I WAS FOOLED. HE IS NO DIFFERENT THEN ANY OF THE OTHER PHONIES RUNNING FOR THE RIGHT TO OCCUPY THE "PEOPLE'S HOUSE". MY PROOF, HIS 400 DOLLAR HAIRDO WHICH WAS THEN FOLLOWED BY HIS RESPONSE TO THE QUESTION OF WHO WAS HIS MORAL CHAMPION WAS. ASKED THAT QUESTION THE OTHER NIGHT AT THE DEMOCRATIC DEBATE EDWARDS, COULD NOT ANSWER IT RIGHT AWAY. INSTEAD HE NEEDED A FEW MINUTES TO SEARCH ABOUT HIS RESPONSE, WHEN ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS LOOK INTO THE AUDIENCE AND TO HIS WIFE. IF ANYBODY SHOULD BE HIS MORAL CHAMPION EDWARD'S WIFE ELIZABETH SHOULD BE. AND AS FOR THAT 400 DOLLAR HAIRCUT WELL HOW CAN WE TRUST A PRESIDENT EDWARDS TO SPEND OUR TAX MONEY SOUNDLY IF THIS IS THE WAY HE SPENDS HIS OWN MONEY? WANT TO KNOW WHAT PEOPLE THINK JOHNNY WALK INTO ANY BARBERSHOP IN THIS COUNTRY ON ANY SATURDAY MORNING AND OH BRING THE COUPON THAT OFFERS A WASH, CUT AND BLOW DRY FOR 20 DOLLARS THAT IS 380 DOLLARS UNDER YOUR COST, AND A SOUND ECONOMIC DECISION.

USING FORMER MISS AMERICA TO CATCH ON LINE SEXUAL PREDIATORS

I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THIS. LETS FACE IT IF THESE DERANGED INDIVIDUALS HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT THAT THERE ARE AS MANY, IF NOT MORE, STING OPERATIONS OUT THERE THEN THERE ARE MINORS, THEY DESERVE TO GET CAUGHT AND PERP WALKED IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA. LETS THINK OF IT IN TERMS OF ECONOMICS: ITS A SIMPLE CASE OF SUPPLY AND DEMAND. AND FOR THE POLICE AND THE MEDIA THE DEMAND IS THERE SO WHY NOT SUPPLY IT.

THE DEMOCRATS HAVE VOTED AND GUESS WHAT

THEY PASSED A WAR FUNDING BILL THAT HAS A TIME LINE FOR WITHDRAWAL OF OUR TROOPS ATTACHED TO IT. WHAT A SURPRISE AND HERE IS ANOTHER EVEN GREATER SURPRISE. THE SENATE WILL PASS IT AS WELL AND THE PRESIDENT WILL VETO IT. NEXT.

BUT IN CASE YOU'RE KEEPING SCORE THE DEMOCRATIC MAJORITY IN CONGRESS DOES NOT SET FOREIGN POLICY NOR ARE THEY THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF THE MILITARY, THE PRESIDENT IS. SO WHAT IS AT STAKE HERE IS A LITTLE THING CALLED THE CONSTITUTION AND THE DEFINED AUTHORITY IT CLEARLY LAID OUT FOR THE THREE BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT. THE DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS NEEDS TO STOP POINTING FINGERS AND LEGISLATING THEIR OWN RULES. REMEMBER MANY OF YOU VOTED TO LET THE PRESIDENT STUMBLE INTO THIS WAR, HE DIDN'T DO IT BY HIMSELF. IF THE CONGRESS REALLY WANT TO GET THE TROOPS HOME THEN PASS A BILL THAT WILL ONLY FUND THEIR TRIP HOME AND NOTHING MORE. IT IS THEIR RIGHT AND AUTHORITY TO DO SO, IF THEY FEEL SO STRONGLY ABOUT IT. WHAT COULD THE DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS LOSE IF THEY DID THAT, THE NEXT ELECTION? OR BETTER YET THE WHITE HOUSE IN 08? IF YOUR CAUSE IS SO STRONG ,LETS FACE IT, YOU WON THE LAST ELECTION BECAUSE OF THIS PRESIDENT'S INCOMPETENCE IN MANGING THE WAR SO WHY NOT CUT THE FUNDING TO ALLOW FOR THE SAFE RETURN OF OUR TROOPS AND FOCUS ON THE REAL ISSUES THAT FACE OUR NATION SUCH AS THE FARM BILL OR MEDICARE FUNDING OR EVEN BETTER SOCIAL SECURITY. YOU DO REMEMBER THAT MANTLE OF DEMOCRATIC DOMESTIC POLICY.

THERE SEEMS TO BE SOMETHING FISHY ABOUT THE DEMOCRATS APPROACH TO GETTING OUR TROOPS OUT OF IRAQ. LOOK AT IT. THEY ARE WILLING TO PAY THE BILL BUT WANT A WITHDRAWAL DATE SENT WITH THE CHECK. IT MAKES NO SENSE, WHAT IF THE FUNDING AND THE SURGE IN TROOPS WORKS WHAT THEN HARRY WHAT THEN NANCY? WHAT THEN HILLARY, BARRACK, JOHN ETC ETC ETC THE LIST GOES ON AND ON AND ON.

JUST A THOUGHT

HERE IS A QUESTION FOR YOU TO PONDER. DO YOU GET THERE FASTER IF YOU SPEED AND BY DOING SO DO YOU SAVE ON FUEL? THIS IS WHAT I THINK, AH, NO. BUT STILL WITH GAS OVER 3 DOLLARS A GALLON FOR UNLEADED REGULAR, PEOPLE FEEL THE URGE TO SPEED. AND DO SO SO THAT THEY CAN GET TO THAT DEAD END JOB THEY LOVE SO MUCH. I HATE THEM AND PURPOSELY DRIVE THE SPEED LIMIT OR LESS TO PISS THEM OFF. THEY ARE IDIOTS OF THE HIGHEST ORDER, MAYBE LOWER THAN A HOUSEWIFE IN HER SUV ARMED WITH HER SCREAMING KID IN THE BACK SEAT WHILE SHE TALKS TO BLANCHE ON HER CELL PHONE ABOUT THE SALE IN THE MALL. THESE PEOPLE PROBABLY VOTED FOR BUSH, TWICE! SORRY I HAD TO LET THAT ONE GO

DAVID HALBERSTAM 1934-2007

THE FIRST EXPOSURE I HAD TO TE WRITING OF JOURNALIST/AUTHOR DAVID HALBERSTAM WAS WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL. I WAS DOING A PAPER ON THE VIETNAM WAR AND THE IMPACT THE PENTAGON PAPERS HAD ON THE ABILITY OF THE GOVERNMENT TO CARRY OUT THE WAR ONCE IT WAS EXPOSED AS A LIE. AS I RESEARCHED I FOUND REPORTS FILED BY NEW YORK TIMES REPORTER DAVID HALBERSTAM. HE HAD REPORTED WHAT DANIEL ELLSBURG HAD BEEN ABLE TO SLIP AWAY FROM THE PENTAGON AND HAND OVER TO THE WASHINGTON POST; SECRET PAPERS AS TO THE TRUTH BEHIND WHY WE WERE SENDING OUR YOUNG TO FIGHT AND DIE IN SOUTH EAST ASIA. DAVID HALBERSTAM'S REPORTS WERE SO ON THE MONEY, SO CONCISE THAT THE NIXON ADMINISTRATION FELT THE NEED TO ADDRESS SPECIFIC SENTENCES HALBERSTAM WROTE IN HIS ARTICLES. LATER I WOULD FIND READING HIS BOOKS ON SPORTS, BASEBALL CLEARLY A LOVE OF HIS,A EXPERIENCE OF PURE JOY AND FOUND THAT HIS ABILITY TO DRAW PARALLELS TO WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN SPORTS TO EVERYTHING ELSE THAT WAS HAPPENING IN THE COUNTRY AS PURE GENIUS ON HIS PART. TO HALBERSTAM SPORTS WAS JUST A MICROCOSM OF OUR SOCIETY BUT ON MANY OCCASIONS IT TOOK OUR MINDS OFF OF OUR SHORTCOMINGS AS A NATION. I AM DEEPLY SADDENED BY THIS TRAGIC NEWS AND KNOW THAT IN A WORLD THAT HAS GONE WILD THE INSIGHT AND REASONING OF DAVID HALBERSTAM WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. REST IN PEACE, NOBLEST OF ALL WRITERS.

OUR ADDICTION TO VIOLENCE

LETS FACE IT, WE AMERICANS LOVE VIOLENCE. WE HAVE AN APPETITE FOR IT THAT HINGES ON NEAR FRENZIED ADDICTION. VIOLENCE IS EVERYWHERE IN OUR SOCIETY ITS IN OUR SPORTS,IN OUR ART, IN OUR ENTERTAINMENT OUTLETS, ITS EVERYWHERE. IF YOU NEED A FIX YOU CAN JUST SIMPLY PUT ON YOUR TELEVISION. IF YOU DON'T WATCH TV TAKE A RIDE TO ANY LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL SPORTING EVENT YOU ARE ALMOST CERTAIN TO SEE SOME SORT OF HOSTILITY EITHER ON THE FIELD OR IN THE STANDS. IF SPORTS IS NOT YOUR VENUE THEN JUST TAKE A DRIVE ON ANY OF YOUR LOCAL HIGHWAYS YOU WILL CERTAINLY SEE SOMETHING THERE. VIOLENCE HAS DEFINED US AS A NATION, HECK IT FOUNDED OUR NATION AND HELPED IN ITS EXPANSION TO THE FAR EAST. THE ONLY WAY VIOLENCE WILL GO AWAY IS IF THE DEMAND FOR IT DOES. AND THAT, MY FRIENDS MEANS GOING COLD TURKEY.

BOY DO WISH SOMEONE WOULD READ MY BLOG

JUST WONDERING

MIKE NIFLONG SAYS HE'S SORRY

ARE YOU KIDDING MIKE? THE NEXT THING OUT OF YOUR MOUTH SHOULD BE "I AM ANNOUNCING EFFECTIVE TODAY MY RESIGNATION AS YOUR DISTRICT ATTORNEY". COME ON MIKE BE A MAN AND DO THE RIGHT THING AND HOPEFULLY NO ONE WILL FIND OUT JUST HOW MANY PEOPLE IN YOUR JAILS RODE THE SAME TRAIN YOU PUT THE THREE STUDENTS FROM DUKE ON. JUST GO AWAY MIKE!

WHO LOVES YA?

ASK DON IMUS TODAY AND HE WILL TELL YOU. IMUS IS FINDING OUT WHO HIS REAL FRIENDS ARE SINCE HE MADE THOSE DISPARAGING REMARKS ABOUT THE LADIES OF RUTGERS. FORMER CONGRESSMAN HAROLD FORD IS ONE. FORD HAS FORGOTTEN WHAT THE I-MAN HAS DONE FOR HIM, HE ENDORSED HIM IN HIS BID FOR THE SENATE AND IMUS HAD TO ENDURE THREATS FOR DOING SO.

LAST NIGHT I WATCHED NBC NEW PRESIDENT STEVE CAPUS EXPLAIN HIS "DECISION" TO DROP IMUS' SHOW AND I HAD TO LAUGH. CAPUS ACTUALLY WANTS US TO BELIEVE THAT IT WAS THE INTERNAL OUTRAGE THAT MADE HIM MAKE HIS "DECISION" AS WELL AS UPHOLDING THE INTEGRITY OF NBC NEWS. ARE YOU KIDDING? YOUR "DECISION" WAS MONEY AND NOTHING ELSE. AS SOON AS THE SPONSORS STARTED JUMPING SHIP YOU HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO DO WHAT YOU DID. MY PROOF IS YOUR ADMISSION THAT IT WAS NOT JUST THIS STATEMENT BUT THE MANY STATEMENTS THAT IMUS AND HIS SIDEKICKS HAVE UTTERED OVER TIME. WELL THEN WHY NOT HAVE DONE SOMETHING THEN AND MAYBE THIS ALL WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. IMUS DID WHAT HE DID BECAUSE HE WAS MAKING MONEY FOR YOU, YOU SAID SO YOURSELF TO DAVID GREGGORY LAST NIGHT. I BELIEVE THAT IMUS SHOULD BE PUNISHED AS IMUS HAS DONE TO SID WHEN HE PUT HIS FOOT INTO HIS MOUTH. BUT HE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN PUT OUT TO PASTURE LIKE THAT.

Don't forget

ITS APRIL AND THE LAST DAY TO FILE OUR INCOME TAX IS APRIL 17th.

A Stretched and tired army

What a busy day it has been. Defense Secretary, Robert Gates, has stated a major change of policy in which the military deploys it troops in the "war on terror". They will now have to serve fifteen months and have only twelve at home. If this is not an indication of a stretched to the limits army then i don't know what is. Just wait after a policy shift like this will come the well we might need a draft again. I know one thing, if my son needs to fight for his country it had better be a result of a direct threat to these shores and not a threat to the passage of oil from the Persian Gulf. All of this mess could have been avoided if only the President, who has shown that he can always be counted on to make bad decisions, stayed away from Iraq. War is a costly and certainly a very risky venture, any time you offer lives up as an extension of policy things can get a little muddy. And in this case they have. The President has failed to execute a plan that would have addressed the aftermath of our great military victory and has thus relied upon the advise of advisers who have failed him constantly and who have had no if any foresight in dealing with this mistake. Just listen to the statements of some of the retired generals one of which stated that those people in the White House don't know where they want to go over there. Once again the real war the one the President would have had no problem rallying Americans around was in Afghanistan, which now, thanks to the strain of Iraq, seems to be rearing it ugly head again. The President's mess has accomplished something though, it has allowed the congress to once again be taken control of by the Democrats and to that I tip my hat to him. The President has sated his displeasure at Speaker's trip to the middle east and her visit with the Syrian President , well nothing else has worked and everyday your policy is getting more and more of our young men and women killed so why not talk, wasn't it the Iraq study group that came out and said that dialog is the key to middle east peace not silence. Mr. President I never thought I would ever have to say this but I can't wait for your last day in office and on that January day when you hand over a broken country and world to a democrat I will again smile. Your two terms has only proven that our system of selection can fail us in choosing the right person for the job. And that it has only shown that the election of the President is not always the right man or woman but the most popular, sort of like American Idol is not about the best singer but the best looking as well. Wake up America they are once again leading us into that valley of death.

Duke Rape Case: ALL LIES

The Attorney General of North Carolina has just announced that the three former Duke Lacrosse players that have been accused of raping an exotic dancer just over a year ago have been found by his office to be INNOCENT of all charges. That my friends is a very huge admission by the state attorney. Anyone with a knowledge of law knows that prosecutors never admit they are wrong and certainly never say that the accused are innocent of all charges. They usually just say that there was never enough evidence to get a conviction and thats for good reason, they're all elected officials and no elected official likes to lose votes. Mike Nifong abused his responsibility not only to those who voted for him but to the justice system that has charged him with that responsibility and should be disbarred or simply should resign (but he won't). As for the woman who accused these players, she is simply a lier that has gotten away with destroying the lives of all involved in this case as well as, more importantly, brought a creditability cloud over any future legitimate rape accusations. This case was a travesty from the get go and it has cost a coach his job, three students their right to play and attend classes at that University until being proven guilty and parents money that was spent to defend their son's freedoms. Money that they luckily had to spend and hopefully will get back in upcoming law litigation against the state and Nifong. And as for the University, they showed their true colors and their belief in the justice system's creed that all accused are innocent until proven guilty. For that all future Duke students should keep at the front of their minds! But the real question is: How many are there who are in jail serving sentences for crimes that they might not have committed? The answer: Is that the North Carolina State attorney should now review all cases that Nifong proscuted but all cases with in the state. And the tax payers of that state should pay for any miscarriage of justice. God Bless these players and their families and God Bless their futures!

Imus said it now Reverend Jackson and Sharpton get over it......

....and move on already. You have had your say so move on. March on to the record companies that record rap "artist" whose "music" depict violence toward African-American women and the Hollywood studios that depict African-Americans as violent criminals whose only contributions to society is to deal drugs and keep barred cinder block rooms occupied. To those who have appointed themselves speech police, the only crime that Imus committed was that of poor judgment. The accent of Imus' show from a small studio in Queens to the studios of MSNBC has suggested a level seriousness of his show similar to that of Hardball or Meet the Press. IT IS NOT! The suspension of Imus is correct two weeks is more then enough. Let us not forget that the real issue at hand is the major networks inability to hire an African-American as an anchor or a host of a major news show that was really eating at Reverend Jackson as he made his case against Imus on the Today show. So thank you Don for giving the Reverend a FREE opportunity to point out this oversight by the networks. As far as forgiveness Don Imus only has to apologize to those he directly and unjustly offended... the WOMEN of the Rutger's Basketball and no one else! And it is up to them to decide if they will forgive him no one else. In a society that allows murders a second chances Don Imus, who has done more to raise attention to many injustices as well as money for worthy causes, can certainly be given a poor judgment reprieve. Remember we all live in glass houses.

MLB Selig makes 14 million!

I was so happy to read that the Major League Baseball Commissioner did so well last year. In fact a friend of mine happened to have read that same newspaper report and did so out loud at his breakfast table and his son, who happens to be six years old said back to him; Daddy, what is baseball? What your six year old has never been to a game?,I asked. It seems that he hasn't taken his son to see that great American past time and told me that he never will since he can't afford the price of one ticket let alone four. This is where baseball has arrived. In a place where only those earning over six digits can comfortably afford to treat their families to a day at the ballgame. A place where those less fortunate can only watch a game on T.V.(hopefully they have cable, otherwise they have to wait for those few regular network games to air). A place where sky luxury boxes become the driving force behind designs of all the new stadiums. Build them small and make sure that there are many luxury boxes right Bud. Its a place where little league associations who want to dress their kids in uniforms that display the names of the big league teams are told that they can't because of trademark and financial reasons and where some have actually have been sued by big league clubs. A place where getting an autograph cost as much as a ticket. Ah yes Bud made millions and in doing so turned away millions, I guess thats good business.

I don't know about you,but......

these gas prices make me happy that i own a bicycle. For the record $3 a gallon for regular is when I begin my cycling. Now if I could only get my job to move closer.

Rosie and her big mouth....

might just be right. Yes, thats right Rosie O'Donnell of that inept noise making chatter box show, "The View" might have hit the nail on the head when she stated that the 15 British sailors and marines, who were captured by the Iranians last week, were part of a diabolical plot by their government and the U.S. government to further enhance the possibility of war with Iran. Though I don't share this premise, not knowing, off hand,of any military person who would become involved in such an operation, I must say that if one looks closely at history one will find a long laundry list of events which would expose governments that have lied about facts in order to get into a wars. Take for instance the rally cry "Don't forget the Maine, or the Gulf of Tonkin incident and most recently those WMDs. The Maine, which was believed to have been sunk by the Spaniards was actually done in by an explosion in its boil room, nevertheless its sinking gave us the Spanish-American War. The Gulf of Tonkin Incident was recently reported to have never have happened by the man who was in command of the ship it reportedly fired upon. And of course those WMDs (Weapons of mass destruction) which never existed. All have been used to spark emotions of nationalism which would make recruiting a walk in the park. So before you get up set at Rosie for questioning the truthfulness and true intentions of her government and the British government all you have to do is remember your history.

Charlie hustle comes clean.

Finally Pete Rose has admitted what the rest of all of America knew, he bet all the time on his team. So what should Major League Baseball do. If my opinion counts for something, they should do NOTHING! He's a lier who couldn't, when caught red handed, stand up and take responsibility. The only time Charlie Hustle should see the inside of the Hall of Fame is as a paying customer.

Who needs casinos when we have insurance companies

You know casinos and insurance companies are quite the same. You go to a casino to bet away whatever money you have in the hope that you will win and that the payoff you receive will cover your expenditures for the night.
With insurance you bet on your luck, that's bad luck, that nothing will happen and that if it does they will pay out enough to cover the expenditures you need to recover.
Outside being caught cheating, the casino has to pay you with no questions asked. The insurance company doesn't have to pay out at all or will only after making you feel like a lier or crack addict asking mom and dad for a cash advance so that you can get back up on your feet.
The casino is a form of entertainment that we rarely can afford. Insurance is a form of torture that is provided to us once a month, which reminds us of just how much money we have thrown at them over the many, many years for the enjoyment of having such good luck.
Casinos don't run and hide when disasters strike, they simply clean up and open up so that they can provide a service to their patrons. Insurance companies, well they run and hide and do so while telling you that your "coverage" doesn't cover that. Its called the fine print, similar to the fine print in the movie Willy Wonker and the chocolate factory(remember the contract he made the winners sign at the beginning of the tour of the factory).
Despite any forecast of economic hard times casinos are always there for you. On the contrary insurance companies will leave you faster than a scorned lover. Just ask the homeowners of Long Island who have Allstate. Upon hearing that the east coast was likely get a direct hit from a major Katrina type hurricane, Allstate refused to renew the policies of thousands of Long Island homeowners. Imagine that, the good hands of Allstate were only good for grabbing and counting your cash and not for extending and helping you up. just a thought.

ATTENTION! Immoral people need not apply.

Just when we thought that the level of ineptitude, which has galloped boldly through this administration, had ebbed, along comes Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,General Peter Pace and his thoughts about homosexuality. In case you hadn't read these quotes here are some of them: “I believe homosexual acts between two individuals are immoral and that we should not condone immoral acts,” Pace was quoted as saying in the newspaper interview. “I do not believe the United States is well served by a policy that says it is OK to be immoral in any way.” Holy Shit! Is Pace kidding here? Does he really believe what he is saying or was it his turn to deflect heat away from the administration's latest debacle at Walter Reed? There are so many ways one can respond to this incredibly outrageous and stupid statement that it actually freezes one's mind! Good battle field tactics, General Pace.
Only after calming my mind down and then jump starting it with coffee, was I able to respond. Here goes, General, when Hitler was running the table in Europe and the Japanese the same in Asia, did any of your distinguished predecessors worry if the young men they were sending off to fight and perhaps die held feeling they or anyone else, including you, would have considered immoral? I think not, or if they did they choose not to make it an issue. Did the draft board wonder or ask the 18 year olds they had just drafted to fight in Korea and Vietnam if they had any immoral tendencies? Ah, no.

I hadn't realized that one needed to be so "pure" in virtue in order to kill for his or her country. And why should gays not be given the opportunity to fight and defend this country in its war on terror, after all not all those who died on 9/11 were straight or moral.
General, may I remind you that one doesn't have to look far in Washington to see that in one way or another and in various degrees we are all sinners. Washington has always had enough immorality to choke a race horse. So, General, before you speak of things that you feel are "immoral" please, please first seek the advise of Dick Cheney or the right to lifers, after all homosexuals are people too, then remind yourself that,we are all Americans, straight or not, and that in our recent history too many young men and women have died for causes that held no reason or justification other then to protect the interests of the Halliburtons of the world, and in that, sir, lay the real immorality.

MAD, adj.
Affected with a high degree of intellectual independence; not conforming to standards of thought, speech and action derived by the conformants from study of themselves; at odds with the majority; in short, unusual. It is noteworthy that persons are pronounced mad by officials destitute of evidence that themselves are sane.

The bagpipe blues or boy am I glad I'm not a dog.

Well here it is again, another St Patrick's day. The only day the Irish have that gives them a good reason to drink away their sorrows for having knowingly promoted one of music's most profoundly annoying noise makers, the bagpipe. So if you happen to be at any of the million beer fest, oops, I'm sorry, I meant St. Patrick's day parades, and the bagpipes start to get to you, remind yourself of one thing, you could have been a dog with a master who loves bagpipes.

Starbucks or a movie? It doesn't matter the torment is the same.

Since when did going to the movies become as hard as buy a cup of coffee at Starbucks? Tonight I decided to treat myself to a movie. The movie I wanted to see had a start time of six thirty. So after getting a quick bite to eat I ventured over to the local town movie theater and was pleased to see that there were only two women, and they were together, on line to purchase tickets ahead of me. This, however, is were the fun begins. The two ladies in front of me held their position on that line for well over twenty-two minutes while trying to decide whether or not they needed to sit in "stadium seats" or those "regular seats". Apparently to sit in a "stadium seat" a person must part with a lot more dollars, ten, to be exact because not only would they see a movie but they would not have to get up during the feature to buy snacks or drinks that would be brought to them by their servers. Twenty-two minutes I stood there listening to these two debate the advantages and disadvantages of "stadium seating" as opposed to the "cheaper seats". By the time they decided to pay for the luxury of not having to miss a moment of the picture the line was out the door and the popcorn was almost all gone and the picture had already started. So with out any popcorn i made my way to my cheap seat only, as it turned out, to see that they too were seeing the same movie as I and as it turned out the money they spent only got them two rows closer then me. The only draw back was that they had their popcorn and I had to watch them eat it. After the movie was over and as i was walking out i heard those words which makes every coffee lover tremble:"Will that be a house blend, bold, soft note, frappuccino?, venti?, grande?, and should we leave room for milk? I looked over and it hit me, no wonder buying a ticket for a movie has become so complicated the theater has a Starbucks!

Libby's fall upon the sword

Duty, Honor, Country. Those words are so proudly displayed at U.S. Military Academy at West Point. They were composed by one of this country's greatest generals, Douglas MacArthur. Though Scooter Libby never went to West Point he certainly can relate to them. Libby certainly saw the call to DUTY when he left his very lucrative law practice to serve his country as the chief of staff to the Vice President of the United States. And as the CIA leak case developed,Scooter Libby sought HONOR in holding firm and not implicating anyone else within the executive branch, choosing instead, to fall upon the sword himself. And for all the honor a jury of his "peers" made Scooter Libby a convicted felon. And in this COUNTRY, a convicted political felon can only mean one thing: A BOOK DEAL!

Side note: If the judge has any backbone he will sentence Libby to community service at Walter Reed Army Hospital. Just a thought.

Why Walter Reed suprises you

Was it really that surprising to find out what was happening at Walter Reed? Was it even more mind boggling to hear some of the answers the generals gave when asked by the congressional committee the other day. No,not to me it was. I wasn't surprised to see that this country cares for its injured vets in the same way it cares for its destitute. No sir,I wasn't even shocked by the comments made by Generals Kiley, Weightmen and Schoomaker as they faced the congressional committee that is investigating the conditions that were so courageously brought into the public eye by the Washington Post.
Kiley's remark that he doesn't do barracks inspection should have had him fired right on the spot. You are the chief surgeon of the army at a time of "war" and you can't find the time to visit your wounded patriots! Hell sir you lived right across the street from them! Just think what a visit by the army's top medical surgeon would have meant for those wounded and recovering. It would have, at the very least, conveyed a feeling that those "at the top" gave a shit and would have opened your eyes to the conditions they were recovering in and based on your testimony your eyes needed to be opened. But then again you don't do barrack inspections.

And as for you General Weightmen and your statement to the committee that, "We did not fully recognize the frustrating bureaucratic and administrative processes some of these soldiers go through. We should have, and in this I failed." Yes you did. How could you sit there and say that you didn't recognize the bureaucratic and administrative processes facing these brave men and woman and their families when you have spent your entire career in the military, which has always been one of the biggest bureaucratic and administrative monsters in recorded history. I guess you had just been hired from off the street and that the army places those they hire off the street right into the rank of general. Well I know at least this much; the army doesn't hire their generals off the street, and that in this case it might have been better for those mistreated vets had they done so. Last but not least, General Schoomaker. General the emotion you displayed when advising the committee's chairman, Rep. Tierney that you have daughter and son-in-law going over to Iraq, touches my soul, and I pray that they remain safe in their service to this country. However sir, ever since the day of the first recorded battle one thing is certain, and that is that rank has its privilege. As a four star general I am certain that if, God forbid, anything happened to those you love so dearly, they would not have to, no, would never have to endure the treatment that those less connected have had to endure. You are the top guy over there and you should have at least paid a visit to these medical facilities. Generals Patton and MacArthur did and their war was slightly larger.

You know it is really ironic that as I write this I just happen to be watching an interview with reporter, Bob Woodruff. As we know, Bob Woodruff was seriously wounded and nearly died while reporting from Iraq. He is currently telling his remarkable story of recovery that was made possible by the brave men and women of our army medical units and by the technology that allowed him as well as those seriously wounded in combat to have a remarkably high survival rate. Woodruff spoke with high praise for the treatment and care he and his family received from the army medical staff in Iraq and in Germany. He went on to say that the treatment he received was no different then that received by those soldiers who were wounded in battle. That is true, however, the treatment and care, or lack of, they receive when state side might make some of them wish they had just simply been killed in battle.

speaker for hire, works "cheap"

Hey Anne Coulter, Good one!!! keep it up you might just get a democrat elected to the White House. Thats what I love about American politics, good old decent integrity. Hey Ann you should tell that one to the Americans who are fighting and dying in Iraq. I am sure they would love to see what kind of high minded political intelligence they are fighting to defend. When you say thing like that it makes me wonder: How you have persevered for so long on the political circuit.

Accident or murder?

Funny but that question popped into my head while listening to a radio report on the conviction of a man accused of driving, very much above the legal level of intoxication, his auto the wrong way on a highway then crashing it into another auto which caused the deaths of the driver and a child passenger. As I listened I heard, or at least I thought I heard, the convicted man's lawyer state that this was nothing more then an accident and not murder as the district attorney had charged and got the jury to convict his client on. He went on to state that his client wants to take responsibility but only for having caused an accident. Ok, lets take a closer look at the facts. The defendant went out drinking that night and consumed enough alcoholic to make him so impaired that he couldn't see or comprehend the numerous signs that have been placed at all highway ramps for the luxury of the many dazed and confused-not drunk-motorist we have in this state in big red lettering "DO NOT ENTER" or in the more lovelier shaded yellow signs that proclaim "WRONG WAY". His client missed all of that. He missed all of those signs not because he was dazed and confused but because he was DRUNK. If he'd been simply dazed and confused he would have at least seen the signs and not had entered the highway that night the wrong way and would not have taken those two lives. And if he had been just dazed and confused well then that, my dear lawyer, would have been a tragic accident and would not have constituted a charge of murder which I'm sure the D.A. would not have charged him with. And here is a fact that this lawyer might not like to hear but it simple enough: your client killed and did so intentionally when he picked up that first drink that night. He did so when he crossed that i have had enough line that we all know we have. He did so when he entered his car and drove away to meet his destiny and cause two innocent people meet theirs. Those who died will not get their day in court to have their case presented to a jury by a crafty lawyer, that painful burden has been given to their loved ones. They will not even get that second chance that all of us bad doers seem to demand and get these days in America. I am not at all sorry for your client's fate, he deserves all the jail time he gets and that, my friends, is all the responsibility he can take.

Happiness defined

HAPPINESS, n.
An agreeable sensation arising from contemplating the misery of another. Thus is the credo of our cable news networks and every ex-lover.......

police car chases

The United States Supreme court today heard a case which evolved out of a "police chase" of a motorist that ended when the police rammed the back of his car causing it to roll off the road. Anybody who has watched our "impressive" and highly "professional" cable news channels, CNN,MSNBC or FOX, has, on a occasion such as a slow news day, seen these chases played out. So why are we in the Supreme Court in this case? Because there is a victim in this case. Someone was injured, in fact was paralyzed and has been left to toil away the rest of their life in a wheelchair because of what they are claiming is another case of police brutality;ramming. The irony here is that the "victim" is the driver of the car that the police had chased. YES!!! HE WAS THE DRIVER OF THE CAR THAT,WAIT A MINUTE,OF THE CAR THAT REFUSED TO STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He refused to stop when being requested to so by the cops when they put on, what everybody in the universe recognizes, as those bright red flashing lights and flashing high beams. Instead our "victim" chose to put the "pedal to the metal" and take the police on a tour of that particular countryside. With speeds reported to been in excess of 90 mile per hour they chased this poor "victim"! So why are we in the Supreme Court, again? Oh, yes, police brutality, thats right, after all the police started it, thats why we name them "police chases". In fact every time the police do something in the line of duty, except die of course, we give their actions their name, aka "a police shooting" ," a police riot". Never is it our fault, the police started it all they went out that night looking to shoot to chase and mane or to run through the streets chasing people and causing them to set fires to cars and business, and to loot. Yep they are bad those police. Well let me state this as just one of my many frustrations. What do we want them to do? They get paid to serve and protect, this might shock you, US!! In this case they were doing their job. What if this driver had just committed a felony such as kidnapping a kid, a sport that has been very popular these days, witness the recent events in St. Louis and Fla. I ask you: How do the police know that the person they are trying to stop had not just done something bad? I'll tell you, WHEN HE OR SHE DOES NOT STOP!!!thats how. Yes they have to assume the worst because thats what they deal with everyday and what they are left to think when someone speeds off into the night. Its simple if the police want to stop you, you MUST STOP!!! Unless of course you are a felon or you had just realized that the pot roast is burning then by all means run but don't think you will be able to sue if the chase ends poorly for you. Hey maybe they can consider suing the news channels who feel compelled to air all in progress "police chases" as "breaking news"....hey maybe thats why people run they want their fifteen minutes of fame!!!! Come on Supreme Court send the right message here and keep us on the right road.

Enough already pay him.

So why won't the Yankees pay Mariano Rivera the millions he justly deserves? That was the burning question on the radio talk program I had been listening to while trying to pay four hundred dollars worth of bills with the last of the two hundred dollars I had in my checking account. One caller after another took shots at George Stienbrenner and his General Manager, Brain Cashman, for not paying their star his just due. Just due? For a guy who has made well over ten million dollars over his ten year career, what a bunch of really nice and compassionate fans I thought to myself. I thought why couldn't I be more like them. Then I thought to myself: When was the last time I went to a baseball game at Yankee Stadium? Answer: The last time I was able to afford one and that was well over fifteen years ago. After the tenth caller stated that the Yankees lacked the respect for Rivera he deserved I had had enough and turned off the show feeling sick over the concern these people had for the financial welfare of a man who will never in his life know the word "need". Don't get me wrong all the power to him. But when people, who literally have no pot to piss in feel the need to come to a millionaire's defense, I feel the need to get sick to my stomach and scream at the moon. But now I have this blog and no longer have to embarrass myself the way I use to, I simply blog and will now take this opportunity to state my view of this Yankee dilemma in that blog. Enough already pay him so that all of us "bottom feeders" can go back to paying our bills!!!!!

Your Cheating Heart

Hold the Presses!! There is breaking news out of NASCAR these days. Four crew chiefs were suspended and fined and their drivers docked 100 points all because they cheated in preparing their cars for the upcoming Daytona 500. One of the crew chiefs suspended was the chief of Michael Waltrip's team which is now under contract to race for Toyota. NASCAR would only comment that the device they found in the engine was used in jet engines. Whatever happened to the NASCAR I once knew and whatever happened to the good old boy days of hard honest racing. When racers stood in the same line as you for a hot dog or a turn at the john. When they were very willing not to be like those other sport icons and signed autographs freely and without any reservations. Well those days are gone, their women wear Prada, they don't even acknowledge you and they cheat. No its not steroids but rigging a car outside the rules is no different. Whats ironic about it is that Waltrip's car is a Toyota and not a Ford or Chevy or Dodge...so why cheat?

Iran, the president and the truth; i think?

Outside of the an occasional UFO sighting, the next rarest sighting is a Presidential news conference. Yep, the president went before the public and laid it all on the line. First he stated that it would be totally ridiculous to think that anybody in his administration would fabricate a story that the Iranian Government is suppling our enemies in Iraq with munitions. I tend to agree that the Iranians are doing that exactly, but, I also remember WMDS and the fact that they never existed. So the president's creditability has gone out the window and the truth in all of this is that the real war is in Afghanistan and our troops there, as well as, their NATO Allies need more support, support that was taken from them some four-years ago so that we could put democracy's noose around a dictators neck.

WAR, n.
A by-product of the arts of peace. The most menacing political condition is a period of international amity. The student of history who has not been taught to expect the unexpected may justly boast himself inaccessible to the light. "In time of peace prepare for war" has a deeper meaning than is commonly discerned; it means, not merely that all things earthly have an end -- that change is the one immutable and eternal law -- but that the soil of peace is thickly sown with the seeds of war and singularly suited to their germination and growth. It was when Kubla Khan had decreed his "stately pleasure dome" -- when, that is to say, there were peace and fat feasting in Xanadu -- that he

heard from afar
Ancestral voices prophesying war.

One of the greatest of poets, Coleridge was one of the wisest of men, and it was not for nothing that he read us this parable. Let us have a little less of "hands across the sea," and a little more of that elemental distrust that is the security of nations. War loves to come like a thief in the night; professions of eternal amity provide the night. A.B.

A simple wish

Just think one day American Idol will be a thing of the past never to be seen again and those who were addicted to this show, will be reading a book, a periodical or sitting around discussing how to change the world.....Right. Just a wish.

Valentine's day and its true meaning.

Well guys here it is again. Tomorrow is valentine's day and once again we are faced with the burning question:What can I give her that will express my everlasting love for her? Right. Lets face it, guys, if it weren't for the fact that the flower and card companies are able to, through their countless adds, touch upon our one human emotion, guilt, us fellows wouldn't give a hoot about what to get our "better halves" on this day. Too bad the card and flower companies can't remember her birthday and our anniversary, now that would be a prefect world. Just a thought from a frustrated lover.

LOVE, n.
A temporary insanity curable by marriage or by removal of the patient from the influences under which he incurred the disorder. This disease, like caries and many other ailments, is prevalent only among civilized races living under artificial conditions; barbarous nations breathing pure air and eating simple food enjoy immunity from its ravages. It is sometimes fatal, but more frequently to the physician than to the patient. By Ambrose Bierce. Enjoy your day, ladies!

My Opinion of the life and death of a tabloid created diva.

ANNA NICOLE SMITH.................So what did the life and death of this tabloid created diva mean to me? Well, nothing.

The Iraqi war and it 's future.

Now that the congress is finally taking up the debate as to what to do with Iraq let us not forget the disastrous effect pulling out would have at this time or any time soon on that struggling, thanks to us, country and its people.
Pulling out solely for the reason of pulling out would allow for Iran and Syria, two of the Middle East most ardent U.S. supporters, to step into a country that is just ripe for the taking. That is something that the U.S. and all of it's increasingly nervous Arab allies don't want to see happen. Yes, it was wrong, very wrong,to have entered into that war in the first place but it would be just as equally wrong to pull out while leaving Iraq incapable of taking care of itself. Furthermore, any resolution that condemns the war would only be that a winded and meaningless statement that would not do much to bring the troops home while sending a clear message to our enemies and allies that we can not be trusted to finish the job. If congress wants to debate a real issue it should debate the reasons we went to war in Iraq in the first place. Ah! but there they will find that there is enough blame to go around for everybody. So lets give General Petraeus a chance to get the job done after all,"We" created this mess, yes, "We" meaning Democrats and Republicans alike and "We" should now at least see to it that when we leave, and we will leave, that we do so knowing that the Iraqis are in the best possible shape to effectively govern themselves and in the best possible way to protect themselves. American policy should not be decided the same way we select our American Idols. Thank you

Speaker Pelosi's air accommodations
